Shower Power: A Relaxing Take on the Bridal Shower
Calls to caterers, dress fittings, and addressing invitations can take a lot out of a bride. But nothing relaxes her more than getting together with her good friends at the bridal shower—especially if it’s a spa shower. Since it isn’t often economical to invite all guests to a spa, create your own. Here’s how:
Theme: Buy a gallon of shea butter lotion and have each guest create her own scent by adding fragrant oils. It’s a fun activity and makes for a generous favor for guests. These individually priced lotions and oils mean you can be as modest or as lavish with the shower theme as you want.
Gifts: On the invitation, request that guests bring “pampering” gifts for the bride. Everything from pedicure sets to scented candles can help relax the stressed-out bride so she can enjoy the nuptials more.
Atmosphere: Decorate the bridal shower venue with scented candles, table fountains, and fresh florals. Soft background music will also help set the tone for a relaxing event.
Food: Think health and well-being. Fresh salads and fruits, along with herb-filled entrées and cucumber juices, will help nourish and relax guests more than rich or saucy foods.
